About this test

Grows the bacteria in the urine and finds which antibiotics kill them. The right test for a burning, frequent urination, or a fever with no other cause.

Before your test

• •Clean, mid-stream, first-morning urine in the sterile container given. Collect before starting any antibiotic.
• •You will be given a container; the lab will explain how to collect the sample.
• •Bring the doctor's prescription if you have one — it helps the lab file the report to them.
