About this test

A blood test for tuberculosis infection that replaces the skin test. It cannot tell old infection from active disease.

Before your test

• •Three special tubes are drawn; the sample must reach the lab within hours, so come in the morning.
• •Carry on taking your regular medicines unless your doctor has said otherwise.
• •Bring the doctor's prescription if you have one — it helps the lab file the report to them.
